We'll soon be launching buyable Pins to US Pinners on iPhone and iPad. Even though we won't be rolling out buyable Pins across the world just yet, we're making a few updates today to our Privacy Policy to help you understand how they'll work. Here's a quick look at those updates.
1. When someone buys something on Pinterest, they'll need to share some payment and contact info with us so that we can complete the order. We'll save this info for the next purchase. We'll also share this info with the seller, and they'll treat it as if that Pinner bought from their website directly.
2. We hope to make Promoted Pins (available in the US only for now) even more relevant and useful to Pinners. For example, if someone purchases a tent on Pinterest, we may show them Promoted Pins for other outdoor products.
If someone doesn't want their purchases to be used to customise Pinterest, they can go to "Order history" from account settings and swipe to hide their purchases.
